Fast From Wrong Thinking

I have been doing this program, Fast From Wrong Thinking by Pastor Gregory Dickow. It is a 40 day program that focuses each day on a negative thought that we all have delt with and teaches you how to get rid of negative thinking with the Word of God. Its amazing. Your mindset determines your level of success. If you believe things will happen for you and you will be successful, then you will. If you don't, then you won't. Proverbs 23:7 says that "As a man thinketh, so is he." This daily devotional is actually where I got the inspiration to write the Music Producer's Prayer (see Day 40 under Phase 2: I feel powerless). It has already changed my life, and I hope it changes yours as well.

I felt led to write this...

I am capable of completing ANY song I set out to make. I hear the perfect melody, the perfect verse, and the perfect beat for it and I have the tools, the knowledge, the ability, and the understanding to bring it to life.
I have total confidence in my abilities, and I believe I am capable of accomplishing and completing ANY task, because I have the POWER OF GOD within me, therefore, others believe in me as well.
I am an EXCELLENT mediator; I hear people out and listen to others’ ideas, but am firm and confident enough to stick with and voice my own opinions and suggestions.
I can master ANY software, hardware, instrument, etc that I put my mind, heart, soul, and faith into. I BELIEVE!

I have an UNLIMITED SUPPLY of INSPIRATION
I have an UNLIMITED SUPPLY of IDEAS
I have an UNLIMITED SUPPLY of MELODIES
I have an UNLIMITED SUPPLY of LYRICS
I have an UNLIMITED SUPPLY of BEATS
I have an UNLIMITED SUPPLY of COMPOSITIONS
I have an UNLIMITED SUPPLY of WHATEVER I NEED!!!

Because of the POWER OF GOD inside me
The POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT is in me
The VERY SAME POWER that raised JESUS CHRIST FROM THE DEAD is in ME!!!
YES IT IS!!!

I have the PATIENCE to WAIT on GOD
Yes, I know how to WAIT ON THE LORD
I know and REMEMBER to include Him on EVERY TRACK I produce
I am humble enough to ask GOD for help
I am humble enough to PUT HIM FIRST
I am humble enough to LISTEN and TAKE HIS ADVICE
HE is the TRUE PRODUCER!!!

I WILL ALWAYS LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN FOR HIM!!!

I remember the songs He gave to me in the past
The inspiration, the chords, the melodies, the instruments, the feeling, the compositions and how PERFECT they were

And because of this, I am believing GOD right now for the inspiration and the future songs, HITS the and THE MONEY that is to come. They are HERE. RIGHT NOW. INSIDE ME.

HOLY SPIRIT, I expect you to help ME!!!

New Feature - Helpful Tools: MUSIC POWERS

I am starting a new section called "Helpful Tools" that will contain links, tips, and sources that have helped me in my quest as a music producer.

I have this book called "Music Powers" by C.Cirroco Jones and I have to tell you it opened my eyes to the industry, really. It is written ESPECIALLY for the "up and comer" whether you are a producer, singer, writer, etc. Cirroco advises you on how to pick an attorney, the right manager, how to start a publishing company, record company, read contracts, even HOW TO SELL BEATS- something a lot of producers need help with. I suggest you give his book a look. I will even be listed as a producer in the producer directory in the new edition coming out later this year- be on the look out for me!

Lots of new things happened!

1. I recently moved to St.Louis,MO. I am now a music producer full time and I started a a new company, Pretty Dope. Its a music production/publishing/web design/graphics company.
I will be getting a domain name for it soon..

2. New MUSIC!!! Yes! That's ALWAYS fun! I posted three new songs, "Amped Up!", "Dream", and "A Joyful Song". You can listen to them at myspace.com/itsprettydope or myspace.com/lesliegthaproducerchik

3. New Gear! Yes, I got Reason 4 and it is AWWWSUM!!! lol, I like a lot of the new features in it (Thor - reason alone to buy it, the ReGroove mixer, the new sleek interface, the mastering suite selections, etc). You have got to check out the demo and buy it! I also got the Akai MPD 16, I love it for my drums, much better than a keyboard. Also, KRK Rokit Rp5s, they are GREAT for the money, I got them for $150/piece at guitarcenter, now they are $99. Very much worth the buy.
